Reliable and efficient October 31, 2007 31 out of 31 found this review helpful
***Approximate measurement*** Entire unit: 14x11x7 (inches) Tank: 14x7x7 (inches)

This is my first humidifier, but I am extremely satisfied with it. The instruction is very clear and easy to follow. It is easy to put together, simply attach the tank to the bottom. All suggest to me that this is a very efficient machine for a warm mist humidifier(well, at least to me):
1. Within 30 minutes of use, it works and I can feel the difference. 2. No leaking. 3. No noise (slight bubbling sound is actually soothing to me, not noisy.) 4. Sturdy construction. 5. Humidity adjustable (many options, not just 2). 6. Large tank and easy to refill. 7. Low maintenance. (No filter required if you have regular tap/city water.) 8. Easy to clean. (With ultraviolet lights, cleaning isn't required on a weekly basis.) 9. For cats owners: My cats don't get scared of or hurt by it.
I don't think I could ask for more.
***Well...11/5/2007***
It's still great, although I did notice some issues:
1. A bit too much work and too heavy when refill: For men, this might NOT be an issue, but for women like me, it might be. To refill, the tank needs to be turned upside down because the tank cap is at the bottom of it. When I am to flip a full tank of water over and put it back onto the base, I do worry. It's quite heavy, and it gets a bit tiring since I do need to refill it every day. There is no easy access!
2. Frequency of refill: Quote: "It requires no messy filters to replace and runs up to 24 hours each filling." I do need to refill it every 12 hours every day when I: (1) have it on the highest humidity level (2) have it on most of the time (12 hours)
So I do refill it every day I get up and every night before I go to bed. I assume it would last up to 24 hours like it says only if the humidity level is set at the lowest, which probably wouldn't cause an obvious difference to the room's humidity.
In all, it's still a good buy. It does help! I notice that I don't wake up with the driest skin in the morning anymore.
**A little tip** A teaspoon of salt helps it evaporate more moisture, although it makes the water run out faster.
**I attached a picture of mine with my Treo next to it. The ratio should give a brief idea of how big the machine is.
warm moisture a better choice April 17, 2008 For roughly $30 more than a normal humidifier, this warm moisture humidifier is more than worth it. It works WAY better than the cheaper setup and if you take into account the filters you would have to buy for the cheaper one, a way better (and cheaper), deal.
Humidifies well, cleans pretty easily, no white dust January 1, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Like it, it humidifies the room quickly. Maintenance is easy enough, though it helps to clean it once a week or so (which seems to be no harder than hand-cleaning dishes). I got this humidifier because (unlike ultrasonic humidifiers) it steams the water, releasing purified vapors. From what I understand, this means that the vapors will not release fine white dust all over the furniture (ultrasonic humidifiers create vapors that carry with them the mineral particles that were in the water, which later fall down as white dust). A couple minor issues: it can be heavy to carry the tank, which is filled upside-down then needs to be flipped (while full) and put in place; fine for me, but I wouldn't want my 68-year old mom to be doing this. Also, the dial lets you increase or decrease the desired humidity level, but it doesn't have an indicator to show exactly what the humidity level is set at -- thus, I would suggest getting a separate humidistat if this is a concern. I think they are inexpensive and usually more accurate than built-in ones.
Good Warm Mist Humidifier January 25, 2008 I got this product last October 2007, and don't have the noise issue that some have complained aoubt. I don't find it to be that noisy, but I'm not satisfied with the documentation. It's supposed to have a UV bulb to kill the germs, but I can't tell if it's working since to me it doesn't seem like there's a light on and the manual doesn't say anything. The included filters are great - the last Honeywell warm mist humidifier didn't have them included so it was a nice surprise that they included them. The only problem now is where can I get replacements?!? Otherwise, I really like it - nice simple design which doesn't take up too much space and the parts fit well together...
PLEASED, BUT . . . March 2, 2008 I'm very pleased with this humidifier. I frankly don't understand the "loud boiling" criticism- it just isn't the case. I had several others from another manufacturer which I was very happy with but they were recalled due to a fire hazard and I ordered five of these as replacements. If they'd all worked I'd have given it a 5-star rating, but one of the 5 came D.O.A. Hopefully the reliability will exceed the initial quality control for these units! One further gripe- amazon recommends the HMP-12P replacement pads for this unit(see Honeywell HMP-12P QuickSteam Mineral Absorption Pad, 12 Pack)- THEY ARE NOT THE PADS THAT GO WITH THIS UNIT! They're larger and, since they were only $3.99 a box I'm not bothering to return them, so I'll cut them down to size and will use them, but that's an error on amazon's part which should be rectified.
