The humidifier provides healthful vapor that can help relieve the dehydrating symptoms brought on by colds and the flu, helping nasal passages breathe easily again and easing the irritation of coughs and sore throats. It offers a wonderful alternative therapy for children, those who prefer not to take over-the-counter medications, and those who can't take decongestants due to pregnancy or incompatibility with other medications. This low-noise humidifier also takes preventative measures against colds by putting enough humidity in the air to combat the dryness caused by many heating systems. The humidity moistens the respiratory system and helps it to actually fight off viruses, bacteria, and pollutants. The translucent water tank is easy to fill and monitor and outputs about one gallon of moist air into the room--enough for 12 hours of continuous use on one filling. Dry air flows into the cooling chamber and combines with bacteria-free steam vapor from the boiling chamber. The warm, moist air is then released into the room without emitting any white dust. When the tank is empty, it totally drains without leaving any potentially bacteria-laden standing water in the bottom. Two settings--high and low--let you adjust the humidity level to the appropriate room size or moisture level. In addition, flu or cold sufferers can place Kaz Inhalent or Vicks VapoSteam in the included medication cup to further soothe symptoms. I bought this warm mist humidifier after owning a vaporizer and a cool mist humidifier. The vaporizer was fine except that it was too hot and burned my son's arm, so i needed something else. The cool mist humidifier (different company) broke very fast besides for the expense of changing filters.
This humidifier is great.
1) The warmth is very soothing but not too hot-it won't burn you if you put your hand over the mist.
2) It never leaks onto the floor or gets the surrounding furniture wet (the other one did all the time).
3) It is whisper quiet. You can hardly hear the very soft humming sound even when right near it even on high.
4) It gives out a nice amount of humidity even on the low setting.
5) It is very simple to clean.
6) It is very light and easy to fill up.
On the low setting the water lasts well over 12 hours-I haven't timed exactly how long. On high it goes for about a little over 11 hours. The auto shut-off works very nicely.
I really think this product is great so far. I've paid more for it at a local store and still think it's worth it. The Amazon price is really great which makes it a great buy.

This was a good purchase for me. I can tell it's working, in the morning, there's condensation on our bedroom window. You can leave it on all night. Pretty quiet. Good effect on colds.

I purchased a Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier. My husband and I love it. I put in Vicks Vapo Steam (when needed) and turn it on. It keeps the bedroom moist, helps with post-nasal drip and our veterinarian says it is good for the dogs too. It disassembles for easy cleaning.

I am a sensitive sleeper, so noise is important to me. This vaporizer/humidifier is very quiet, does a good job of putting moisture in the air and is eas to clean when occasionally needed. The warm mist is not hot enough to burn which was a concern of mine with two small children. It's easy to operate and refill too. I'd highly recommend this product. Only drawback is it doesn't hold enough water - but this model is not intended to so I didn't count it against the product.

We tried a cool mist type, but not only did it chill the room but it didn't do anything for our son's cold. We finally bought this on my friend's recommendation (a mom of four) and it really works! The room was nice and warm and humid and helped to ease his congestion immediately. The low noise it makes is nice in the background and a full tank on high lasts all night. Just make sure to keep it up and out of the way when the baby gets mobile.
